Why you need your own agent

The model-home rep works for the builder.

Walk into a model home without an agent and the friendly person at the desk represents the builder — not you. Their job is to sell that builder’s inventory at that builder’s terms. Every number they quote, every incentive they offer, is structured to protect the builder’s margin.

That isn’t a trick — it’s how new construction works. The problem is the buyer who shows up alone, signs the builder’s contract, and never had anyone reading it from the buyer’s side.
